A conjunction is a word that connects words, phrases, clauses, or sentences. It helps
in forming meaningful and complex sentences by linking different parts together.
Example: and, but, or, because, although
संयोजक (Conjunction) वह शब्द होता है जो शब्दों, वाक्यांशों, उपवाक्यों या वाक्यों को जोड़ता है। यह विभिन्न भागों को

Conjunctions are mainly divided into three types:
- Co-ordinating Conjunctions
These conjunctions connect words, phrases, or clauses of equal importance.
Example: and, but, or, so, yet, for, nor
Examples in Sentences:
a.I like tea and coffee.

b.He was tired, but he kept working.
वह थका हुआ था, लेकिन उसने काम जारी रखा।
- Sub-Ordinating Conjunctions
These conjunctions connect a dependent clause (Sub-Ordinate clause) to an independent
clause.
Example: because, although, since, if, while, unless, after
Examples in Sentences:
c.I didn’t go out because it was raining.
मैं बाहर नहीं गया क्योंकि बारिश हो रही थी।
d.If you study well, you will pass.
यदि तुम अच्छी तरह पढ़ोगे, तो तुम पास हो जाओगे।
- Co-Relative Conjunctions
These are pairs of conjunctions that work together to connect words or clauses.
Example: either…or, neither…nor, both…and, not only…but also
Examples in Sentences:
e.Either you apologize or leave.
या तो तुम माफी मांगो या चले जाओ।
f.Not only he is smart, but also he is kind.
सिर्फ वह होशियार नहीं है, बल्कि दयालु भी है।
