A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun in a sentence.
Example:
Without a pronoun: Sita is a good girl. Sita helps everyone.
With a pronoun: Sita is a good girl. She helps everyone.
Types of Pronouns
1. Personal Pronouns – Used for people or things.I, you, he, she, it, we, they
Example: She is my friend.
2. Possessive Pronouns – Show ownership.Mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs
Example: This book is mine.
3. Reflexive Pronouns – When the subject and object are the same.Myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves
Example: I hurt myself.
4. Demonstrative Pronouns – Point out specific things.This, that, these, those
Example: This is my car.
5. Interrogative Pronouns – Used in questions.
Who, whom, whose, which, what
Example: Who is at the door?
6. Relative Pronouns – Connect clauses.Who, whom, whose, which, that
Example: This is the boy who won the race.
7. Indefinite Pronouns – Refer to unspecified things.Someone, anyone, nobody, everything, few, many, all
